Well, summer has offically started which means that summertime heat is in full force here at the Valley. Evenings that were once spent outside enjoying a nice breeze and a glass of sweet tea are now spent swatting gnats in between running from your truck to your front door. It’s the kind of heat where your upper lip sweats if you even think about walking outside and where you wake up every day thanking God that you live in the era of air conditioning.
Despite the heat, the Valley is still thriving. The crops seem to savor every drop of those afternoon rain showers in the same way that we savor a glass of cold water. And while the office isn’t exactly beaming with that beginning-of-spring energy, it’s brimming with more of a breath-of-fresh-air vibe and a sense of “let’s finish the season strong.” The days are longer than ever, and we are grateful for every minute.
Despite how much we wish our Georgia season could last all year round, we are thankful for the opportunity to transition to Tennessee. We will soon say goodbye to the intense Georgia heat and humidity and say hello to the rolling hills and cool nights of Tennessee.
But for now, we will continue to soak up every last drop of rain, swat all the gnats, and keep blasting the air conditioning.
