About Us

Our roots begin with six generations of farming.

Southern Valley Fruit and Vegetable, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Kent Hamilton, a 6th generation farmer, along with his father, brother and best friend.

The first few years of operation were difficult as Kent lost his brother due to a tragic accident and five years later Kent’s father passed away after fighting a long battle against cancer. These tragic events left Kent and his mother, Wanda, as the sole owners of the farming operation. Despite these challenges, the business continued to grow with help from close family members and their community.

Today, Southern Valley is a highly recognized progressive and innovative growing, packing, and shipping facility. We are woman-owned and operate like a family, staying true to our traditional farm roots and values.

We’ve expanded growing and packing abilities outside of Georgia to include farming in the Yucatan Peninsula during the winter season and Tennessee for the summer growing months. With farms in three strategic locations, we are able to supply our customers with products year-round across the East Coast, throughout the United States, and northward to Canada.
